Torch
Who will wake the world
From the dreayness
Of gray, mundane life?
Sometimes, I wake.
And shake off the fetters
Of boredom and repetition.
For a few moments,
A song, a movie, a friend
Will wrap me in color and light.
And then the plodding
The just-keep-goingness
Of everyday life
...returns.
So treasure the good times,
The happy times,
The times of laughter and joy.
Keep them in a little box
Just by your heart,
And when the world
Gets you down,
Let the light of your memories
Banish the darkness in your soul.
