and vests are easy to find and make for acceptable costuming.
You can get away with solid black sneakers, but hiking boots and combat boots make for better footwear. I advise against wearing sandals unless you feel confident that you can run and hike in them. (Tevas are good.) High heels should be avoided at all costs.
No matter what season you’re playing in, I always advise that players bring at least four or five pairs of socks, extra footwear and extra underclothes. Running around all day and much of the night will lead to lots of sweat and clean socks feel wonderful. It’s also good to have several changes of clothing in case you have a run-in with a mud puddle, fall into a river, or somebody drops a pitcher of water on you during the Feast.
Not every camp site has working showers, but I always bring a bar of soap and a towel with me to events. I also suggest bringing pajamas and a sleeping bag. Nothing ruins an event for me faster than having to sleep in my clothes or not getting a good night’s sleep because I was too cold.
