If you ahve found this site, you’re probably wondering about the name "Ars Magicae." It’s a little hard to remember, since the phrase translates "The Art of Magic" from Latin. I took the name from the way I feel when I produce a work of art. When I’m working on something I love, I feel happy, excited and empowered to the best job possible. Some people call this their Muse, but for me, that little spark of inspiration as always come from inside as, if I have magic trapped in my soul and my only release is to produce beautiful things, be they building designs or poetry or simple pen-and-paper drawings.

The layout for this site came from its name. The idea of the Magical Arts always made me think of wizards reading scrolls by starlight, so I designed the graphics in Photoshop along those lines. Just for the record, everything on ArsMagicae is copyright Ana Michele, 2008. I designed every image (unless otherwise noted) and wrote all the code by hand, using Notepad. I’ve puzzled many people by doing things in such a time-consuming manner, but by entering all the code myself, I know every part of this site and can fix problems easily without relying on a program like Dreamweaver or Frontpage. One of my favorite sayings has always been, "If you want something done right, do it yourself." It may take longer at first, but in the long run, it saves a lot of time and aggravation when something goes wrong.

Special thanks to my friend Cathy Leamy who gave me a hand with the JavaScript for my rollover images.

I would also like to thank Laura Whent for designing the ArsMagicae Dragon.
